WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown objected Wednesday on the Senate floor to a bill amendment that would have ended President Donald Trump’s steel tariffs against China.
Brown’s press office says Senator Bob Corker, of Tennessee, tried to call up the amendment by unanimous consent and Brown objected, effectively stopping it from moving forward.
Tariffs on Chinese steel is a rare topic on which Senator Brown and President Trump agree. Brown is normally an ardent critic of Trump.
