Ohio Senator Urges Resolution for June as LGBTQ Pride Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A resolution in the U.S. Senate would officially label June as LGBTQ Pride Month.

Senator Sherrod Brown’s office says it’s his second year introducing such a measure after President Donald Trump broke with an eight-year tradition in the White House and did not officer an official presidential proclamation to the matter.

Brown says he hopes all Ohioans will join him in celebrating the accomplishments and courage of the LGBTQ community, and commit themselves to continuing to fight for equality for all.

Brown is among 47 Senators, all Democrats, sponsoring the legislation.
